A RAKEZ dependent visa allows expatriates holding a valid Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) visa to sponsor their immediate family members, including spouses, children, and parents, for residency in the UAE. This visa ensures that dependents can legally live in Ras Al Khaimah while the sponsor is employed or running a business under RAKEZ.

To be eligible, the sponsor must have a valid RAKEZ residence visa and meet the minimum salary requirement, typically AED 4,000. A tenancy contract (Ejari) under the sponsor’s or company’s name is also required. Additionally, the sponsor must provide a relationship certificate (attested by the UAE embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Emirates ID, and three months’ bank statements to prove financial stability.

The application process starts with an entry permit, followed by a fitness test, Emirates ID registration, insurance, and visa stamping. Fitness tests are mandatory for all applicants above 18 years. The visa is generally valid for one, two, depending on the sponsor’s visa type.

If sponsoring parents, additional requirements apply, such as proving sole responsibility and securing a higher salary threshold (usually AED 10,000). The visa must be renewed before its expiry to avoid penalties, and overstaying can result in fines starting from AED 25 per day.

Dependents with a RAKEZ visa can live, study, and receive medical care in the UAE but are not allowed to work unless they obtain a work permit from an employer. In case of visa cancellation, dependents must exit the UAE or switch to another visa category within the allowed grace period.
