Dubai, UAE – 8 December 2024: Dubai Police has announced a temporary service outage on its website and smart channels to enhance traffic services. The upgrade began on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 PM and is expected to conclude on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 4 PM.
The announcement, shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stated:
Traffic Fine Payment Issues Amidst National Day Discounts
During the outage, many users reported receiving the error message: “An internal error occurred, please try again later,” while attempting to check or pay traffic fines. This issue coincided with the National Day traffic fine discounts announced across the Emirates, excluding Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
The 50% discount initiative in other Emirates has prompted many residents to attempt to clear their fines before the deadline. Even in Dubai, where the discount is not applicable, residents have been keen to settle outstanding fines in anticipation of smoother services post-update.
