This health insurance is designed exclusively for Dubai visa holders and is managed through Al-Futtaim Group. It covers employees, their spouses, children, and parents under different plan categories.

DMed (Dependents) – Key Benefits Summary
Annual Limit
AED 150,000 per insured person per year.
Geographic Coverage
UAE + home country. Note that home country coverage applies to inpatient treatment only — outpatient treatment abroad is not covered. Home country rates are reimbursed at UAE UCR (Usual, Customary and Reasonable) rates.
Outpatient Services
Outpatient care is accessed through Nextcare PCP Clinics. A 20% coinsurance applies, meaning the insured pays 20% of the bill.
Key outpatient benefits include:
- Laboratory tests – fully covered
- Radiology – covered; however MRI, CT scans and endoscopies require prior approval in non-emergency cases
- Physiotherapy – requires prior approval; 20% coinsurance per session; maximum 6 sessions per year
- Mental health counselling – covered up to AED 800; 30% coinsurance per visit (no coinsurance for follow-up within 7 days)
- Referral procedure – members must first see a General Practitioner at a PCP clinic before seeing a specialist (exception: obstetrician consultations)
Inpatient Services
Inpatient care is accessed through Nextcare RN3 Hospitals. A 20% coinsurance applies, capped at AED 500 per encounter and AED 1,000 annually — after which the insurer covers 100%.
Key inpatient benefits include:
- Surgeries & hospital treatments – prior approval required from insurer/TPA
- Emergency treatment – insurer must be notified within 24 hours of admission
- Room type – shared rooms of two or more beds
- Companion accommodation – up to AED 100/night for a companion of a child under 16, or medically necessary cases
- Ground ambulance – covered for medical emergencies within UAE
- Dialysis – covered up to AED 60,000 (20% coinsurance)
- Organ transplantation – covered up to AED 100,000 (20% coinsurance)
- Cancer & Hepatitis C treatment – covered under DHA’s Patient Support Program terms
Medication
- Annual medication limit: AED 2,500 (including coinsurance)
- The insured pays 30% per prescription
- Restricted to formulary (approved) medicines only
- No coverage beyond the annual limit
Maternity Benefits
- Antenatal outpatient visits – 8 visits covered with prior approval; 10% coinsurance
- Inpatient delivery – covered up to AED 10,000 for normal delivery, medically necessary C-section, or complications; 10% coinsurance
- Newborn cover – 30 days from birth, covering BCG, Hepatitis B vaccination and newborn screening
- Undeclared pregnancies and pregnancies arising within 40 days of policy start are at insurer’s discretion
Dental Benefits
Only severe restorative and periodontal treatment is covered, up to AED 500, with 30% coinsurance. Routine dental treatment is excluded.
Pre-Existing Conditions
Pre-existing and chronic conditions are excluded for the first 6 months of membership. After 6 months, they are covered subject to declaration and up to the annual limit. Renewal is subject to underwriting review.
Preventive Services & Vaccinations
- Essential childhood vaccinations as per DHA guidelines
- Diabetes screening covered: every 3 years from age 30; annually from age 18 for high-risk individuals
Repatriation
Costs for transporting mortal remains to the country of origin are covered up to AED 5,000.
Key Exclusions
The following are not covered under this policy:
- Cosmetic procedures (unless medically necessary)
- Dental prosthetics and orthodontic treatment
- Hearing aids, vision correction surgery and laser eye treatment
- Obesity treatment and weight loss programs
- IVF and fertility treatments
- Alternative medicine (acupuncture, homeopathy, massage, etc.)
- Professional sports injuries
- Sleep disorder treatments
- Alzheimer’s and senile dementia
- HIV/AIDS treatment
- Work-related injuries (covered under labour law)
- Road traffic accidents
- Alcohol or substance-related conditions
- Self-inflicted injuries

- Prior approval is mandatory for most planned treatments
- Policy is valid for Dubai visa holders only
- Cancellation and refund is only possible with proof of alternative insurance or visa cancellation — no refund if claims have been made
