The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) system has introduced an important update regarding overstay penalties for residency and visit visa applicants in the UAE.
According to the latest update, the system is now automatically calculating fines based on the exact number of overstay days for all applicants. Authorities and typing centers are urging sponsors, companies, and individuals to clear all pending cases immediately to avoid further complications, including absconding issues and additional penalties.
Applicants are strongly advised to ensure that passengers either:
- Exit the UAE before the permitted stay expires, or
- Complete their visa extension or status change process without delay.
Officials warn that any delay in taking action may result in disputes, higher penalties, immigration complications, and increased overstay fines.
Travelers, sponsors, and businesses are encouraged to regularly check visa status and act promptly to remain compliant with UAE immigration regulations.
