The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has announced a special 30-day grace period for individuals in the UAE who were unable to exit the country due to exceptional circumstances previously experienced in the region and were exempted from overstay fines caused by delayed departure.
The grace period began on 10 June 2026 and will remain valid until 09 July 2026.
According to the announcement, overstay fines accumulated from March 2026 onwards will be considered under this special initiative for eligible cases.
During this period, affected individuals will have the opportunity to:
✅ Regularise and legalise their visa or residency status within the UAE
✅ Exit the UAE without paying overstay fines (subject to eligibility)
The Authority stated that this initiative is intended to strengthen compliance with UAE laws and regulations while giving affected residents and visitors a chance to correct their legal status and continue living and working in the UAE after stability has been restored.
Authorities encouraged all eligible individuals to make use of this limited-time opportunity before the deadline.
Individuals who wish to apply for a new visit visa or renew their visa through bus or flight options may seek professional assistance to complete the process smoothly and in accordance with UAE regulations.
